One of the worst things that sometimes happens while moving is finding out your TV was shattered. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group, we know it sucks a lot to get to your new home with a ruined TV. We want to do everything we can to make your move as stressless as possible here in Little Rock, whether your move is local or long distance. That’s why we’ve get together a few tips and tricks for you need to pack up your TV.
First and foremost, you have to have a box that’s the right size for your TV. A great a good thing to use is the TV’s original packaging – if you kept it. If not,, you can purchase a package designed for moving flat-screen TVs from a hardware store or a moving supply store. You should find a box that is just slightly bigger than the TV, but not by a lot; you don’t want the TV to move around when it’s inside. To move fragile and large items requires
packing and moving knowledge, not only large trucks or specialized equipment. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group our team of experienced movers will help you with your move, even if that means packing up your television.
Before you start packing it up, a good idea is to take a picture behind your television with the cords still plugged in. This will make your life a lot easier when you have to reinstall everything. Then, get your TV ready to go. Unplug it and take out the main cord, then unplug all the other connecting wires and cords. Place everything into a bag together and keep it with the box. Sometimes there is a base you must separate from the television in order to pack it. If this is the case, get everything into a reclosable bag and keep it in the box with the TV’s base so nothing gets lost.
After this is done, you can start to pack it up. It doesn’t matter whether you are going
far from Little Rock or you are simply
moving locally, it’s very important to make sure your television is fully covered. You should use foam pieces to cover the TV screen, you will find some in your kit if you decided to buy one, or in the box that your TV came in if you still have that. The foam not only keeps the screen protected, but it also will stop your television from moving around in the box during the move. Steady the foam pieces with mover’s wrap or tape. Then use blankets or sheets to cover your entire television and prevent it from becoming scratched.
When your TV is totally covered up it’s time to place it in the box! Keep the television upright when you do this, and secure it by stuffing spaces and gaps with blankets or even clothes. That way the TV won’t move and shift around in the box on the drive.
Lastly, get the box into the truck. Place the box upright and get it next to other flat, sturdy objects, such as your mattress, dresser, or a bookshelf. Don’t forget to keep important cables by the TV, in a bag taped to the side or in another box.
Then you’re all ready to go! Hopefully you have a
moving company here in Little Rock to help you out, getting you across the country or your town quickly and safely, with all of your stuff intact. If not, A-1 Freeman Moving Group has got you covered! We can move you fast and efficiently, and we’ll make sure your TV is safe and sound so you have it all up and running when the big game comes around.
